It’s been cold here lately. I normally like fall, but I keep forgetting to take my allergy meds. So, that’s not so fun.

This strip was done back in PS, but I backgraded (if that’s even a word) to CS2, since for some reason the brush stroke smoothing is very weird in CS3.

The mercenary thing is the result of me getting Mercenaries 2 for the 360 on Monday. It’s actually pretty fun, though I’m not usually a big fan of sandbox games. I’m actually not exactly sure its technically a sandbox game, but maybe… I’m not always the best at categorizing “genres” of things (as any 5 minute conversation with me about music will reveal). But, it has freeroaming destruction, so that’s always fun.

Anyway, tired! See ya Friday.

It’s interesting. My mom used to warn me about getting addicted to alchohol (I believe this was because my paternal grandfather was an alchoholic? — at least I seem to recall this), however getting addicted to substances was never a real problem. Activities, however, they can be addicting. A bit of OCD and you end up playing Sins of a Solar Empire until 5am on a Saturday morning.

Really, that’s kind of the key for me in getting into the habit of doing something. I need that little “kick” of success at the end to happen repeatedly, so that I work to get that feeling at the end of the activity. At the end of making a comic, when it turns out and you like how it works, that’s great stuff. Sort of the same feeling as when you’re done playing a song or something like that.

Anyway, enjoy LayboreDay

Incidentally, the game mentioned in the last panel isn’t (insofar as I know) a loli game, but is indeed a hentai game for the 360. ‘Bout time. No witch touching, though.

I GOT one of those things this week (when it comes to technology I frequently have very, very little willpower). Did the strip tonight with it, which is cool and practical (plus it was some very reasonable financing, in spite of being expensive).

However, the thing that made me get it was that I am wanting to continue doing The Geeks Domain but I always end up stopping for a couple reasons. 1) Each strip takes about 3-4 hours to do (pencils, scanning, inking, coloring, lettering, etc), and 2) I don’t have that time when I’m taking a class (grad school). I kinda tested how long it would take me to do a sketch in color from scratch of something that isn’t my own creation and it took about an hour or so for a large figure sketch (did a freehand copy of Ranka from Macross Frontier). Maybe a little less if one removes the time I spent setting up the workspace and what not.

So in short, yay! (I call this sketch, “Sad Girls in Space” XD )

The Storm botnet was quite the subject of chatter for a fairly long time, and it turned out to be operated by two Dutch teens. Once again, we’re shown how age has nothing to do with the ability to pwn in this day and age. That bit about them using the botnet to diseminate the actual fix for the malware(s) used to create said botnet? Scary stuff. Do we really want to allow people to clandestinely distribute “fixes” to computers, because the people sending it out are “the good guys<tm>”? My thinking is not too positive on the matter.
