In Drydock….

Hey folks. I’m moving over from WCN into this Comicpress setup.

There’s 79 strips that I need to resize for the new template, and I’m taking the opportunity to fix up some of the font sizings/selections/etc to fix up some of the comic dialog in a few strips that was really hard to read.

I’m in the middle of (what will be) my last class, so updates should start up again in the next week or two.

As an FYI, you’ll need to re-add the RSS feed if you’d done it before with the previous site, but I wouldn’t do it until the first new strip appears ( [0080] ) otherwise you’ll get notified every time I re-add a strip. Though hey, if you want to re-read the strips, that’s cool, too.

Good things to come, good things to come.

Almost done!

As you can see, things are pretty much together, now.  I’m a bit annoyed that I spent some time trying to figure out why the changes weren’t “taking” in the layout, and then it turned out that even though I had wp-cache turned off, it was caching.  Annoying.

Anyway, let me know if you see anything weird, and email me via the link up top!

Alrighty, it looks like its online and ready to rawk.

I did a little bit of preperatory work and am going to start up on Monday, 6/2 with the strips, doing it Monday-Weds-Friday. Lookin’ forward to it!

I really, really, really want one of these….

I’m thinking on doing a comic with more of a plot again.  I like doing NZ, but it’s more of a brainfart that I generate 3x a week rather than a comic.  I like characters and plot arcs, for example.  We’ll see what I can come up with.

So um…

I GOT one of those things this week (when it comes to technology I frequently have very, very little willpower).  Did the strip tonight with it, which is cool and practical (plus it was some very reasonable financing, in spite of being expensive).

However, the thing that made me get it was that I am wanting to continue doing The Geeks Domain but I always end up stopping for a couple reasons.  1) Each strip takes about 3-4 hours to do (pencils, scanning, inking, coloring, lettering, etc), and 2) I don’t have that time when I’m taking a class (grad school).  I kinda tested how long it would take me to do a sketch in color from scratch of something that isn’t my own creation and it took about an hour or so for a large figure sketch (did a freehand copy of Ranka from Macross Frontier).  Maybe a little less if one removes the time I spent setting up the workspace and what not.

So in short, yay!  (I call this sketch, “Sad Girls in Space” XD )
