[0081] “Mysteries of Mid-Afternoon”

Seriously.  Whenever you see someone on Jeopardy, they’re sitting with a huge pad of dough, and then they get to final jeopardy.  And then, you see them betting really strangely.  The leader will have $11,000 and bet “$7001″.  Now, I imagine that the “+$1″ was very good strategy in the first couple years of the game show, since it was possible that someone would beat someone else by betting just one more dollar.  But these days?  I’m figuring that the competition of smart people for Jeopardy is pretty darn stiff and clever tricks that worked TWENTY YEARS AGO aren’t exactly all they used to be.  So, if anyone has any idea, email me or comment.  I’ve wondered this for a while.

Okay, I’m up too late, but I slept in too long, so…. cya later!
