The bit about the bodies is, of course, not true. On the Mexico side of the border? That’s another story.
Peeps, this comic was done sort of digital-retro like, in the sense that it was done on my MBP with an old spare Wacom tablet, due to the fact that my main computer is still being uncooperative. I’m not sure exactly what’s wrong with it, but I will figure out what’s wrong with it, or its getting replaced by the iMac >:|
I kinda like doing these comics, though! Sure, they’re not what you would call *ahem* visually accomplished, but the little guys are so well defined that the jokes almost write themselves.

Okay, NZ isn’t exactly steak yet, but I can already tell I’ll burn out on a 5-day-a-week schedule (given that I have a day job). I’m doing more and more detailed drawings and wanting to still bring you guys the other story I started in NZ. Someday, hopefully, I’ll be fulltime and can update content more often.
So after the 2 week experiment in 5-day-a-week strips I’m moving to 3-days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) again.
Threats, complaints, and general displeasure can be sent to the address below. =D
This is, keep in mind, much different than a character sheet. For one, there’s not nearly enough acronyms. I didn’t even roll for stats!
So there here it is, something I should have done a long time ago, but which is now complete. If you find any typos (I managed to spell “Description” about as many ways wrong as is humanly possible) let me know.
I’ve updated this guide, partially in response to the increase in traffic the last few days (and partially because of the change in format for the strip starting this week). Give it a look and tell me if I missed anything!

Soooo here’s the deal folks. After struggling with a way to do it seamlessly, I’ve reached a dead end.
“What the hell is he on about now?” you’re now asking. (tl;dr version is at the bottom, btw)
Okay: As you may have intuited (being the intelligent sort of audience that you are), the main story/plot of NZ is something that is more long form and what I’ll be working on for a fairly long time. However, since the plot is getting more involved and there’s a lot more characters than I had first envisioned, I end up cutting out a lot of details (both in scenes and in dialog), because of the 3-4 panel horizontal format. I’d like to change to a full page layout in order to alleviate that issue.
However! In order to make that transition and make the site not a terrible mess, I need to keep the site design in a state where the older strips are readable (without re-editing, replacing text, re-doing word bubbles, etc, for 183+ strips) and I can get the full page strips in there as well. I thought that I could figure out a way to do it, but, in the end, it has proved unfeasible.
So! Here’s what’s gonna happen.
NZ is going to go to a 5 days a week (M-F) schedule of wackiness. You might get the sort of thing that you’re getting on Friday (7/23), you might get some old-style animal shoops, and you might just get something totally different. However, what you’re not going to get (for the moment, just wait, see the next paragraph) is the dramatic plotline strips.
What I’m going to do with those is export them (well, in spirit, the old strips will stay here) to another comic (a full-page sort of affair) that will be under a different name (linked here, of course — I haven’t named it yet, I have a few ideas).
I’ll set it up, draw the strips that lead up to the events of [0182] “A Wealth of ‘-ations’ “ and then dump them all on you at once at the grand opening. At that point, I’ll establish the update schedule and we’ll go from there!
tl;dr version: NZ going to 5-days-a-week-wackiness. The storyline with the human folks is getting paused while it gets moved to another site/comic. When that’s ready, I’ll post here.
Some of you won’t like it. That’s fine. I’m sorry to see you go, but I hope you’ll check back to see when the new strip launches.
The rest of you, the strip will be up as per normal at midnight tonight, and then 5-days-a-week starting Monday!
